eVidyaloka is a bridging delivery platform enables live, interactive classes to the children of rurla India. It focuses on transforming the education landscape in the rural and remote regions of the India. We strive to achieve this by involving the local communities to own the digital class rooms, inspire and empower the volunteers to contribute back, from wherever they are, by providing standardized lesson plans and teaching aids for a consistent learning experience to the children.
Our focus is to improve the learning outcome of the children who participate through our Digital class rooms, established in the remote locations and ensure that they "understand and apply the concepts of their respective standards in their regular curriculum subjects".

Shortage of 1.2 million teachers
There is a direct correlation towards the poorer quality in learning outcome to the shortage of teacher. As per Govt. of India reports, today there is a shortage of 1.2 million teachers across the country.
eVidyaloka has created a platform to empanel “Volunteer” teachers, independent of their geographical disposition who contribute back to their roots and teach rural children in their native language. Current pool of teachers (100+) cut across 16 Indian cities and 17 International cities. 78% of them less than 35 years, and 61% are women volunteers. While 45% of the teachers are in IT sector, the rest include students, retired defence sector personnel, graduate students and practicing teachers. 70% of teachers are B.Tech qualified and another 10% Doctorates.
Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), endorsed by The President of India shows that despite investment in infrastructure, during the past decade (2000- 2010) Elementary and Middle school learning levels in rural India have not shown any significant improvement and remain critically below standard.
54% of Grade 5 children can't read Standard 2 text and over 70% of Grade 5 children can't solve a division problem.
The volunteer teachers, with sheer passion and high level of qualifications brings in a high level of accountability towards the learning out of the children, which is by and large a gray area in the existing system.

Affordable, high quality education:
While the focus is to bring people together with the power technology, we constantly focus on fiscal prudence and cost of the solution being delivered. As we stand today, it takes Rs 3500 per child for a whole year, to have classes delivered in Maths, Science and English. High quality in education is able to enabled at the lowest cost, simply through the digital innovation and the social engagement that is achieved through the technology. Otherwise costs a fortune in a traditional, private schooling model, where the Building infrastructure and Cost of Teacher resources constitutes the significant proportion in the Cost model.

eVidyaloka has made use of Tecnology extensively. The usage of technology is not only confined to a particular software or an hardware product, but an application of wide range of technologies.
We have taken the telecom penetration to places as remote as 10 kms above a hill, deep inside forest reseve regions, where the services are catered to the Tribal children.
We have reached to places where there is electricity is available only for 4 to 6 hrs in a day and children with HIV infected homes, where this solves the issue of social stigma perfectly.
We have not only applied internet technologies to deliver classes, but have also built and promoting open source developments like Wikividya.
Essentially, we are enabling cutting edge, high end Digital learning experiences like Smart Classrooms, directly at the door step of Rural and remote areas, at an extremely affordable cost of, as low as Rs. 20 per class, per child.
