ISIF Asia call for grants and awards for 2019 closed 21 June. 6 projects were selected and announced on August 28 to receive USD 120,000 in total, across 2 funding categories.

The call for grants for next year will open in February 2020. Details about the focus areas under each category will be announced then.

Grants will be allocated to projects that have a clear development outcome on one of the funding categories chosen for 2020 and that demonstrate a concrete contribution to research and/or implementation of Internet-based solutions, Internet operations, Internet infrastructure, technologies and protocols within the Asia Pacific region. Before submitting a grant proposal it is important to read the Frequently Asked Questions, Guidelines for Grant Applications, and Selection Criteria. 

The Grants 

2020 Internet Operations Research Grants 

These grants will support research focused on the availability, reliability, and security of the Internet. The research outcomes should aim to expand access to knowledge, expand coverage for research applications and maximize the benefit to the community.

2020 I4D Grants 

These grants will support the research and development around solutions that support Internet for Development. Every year, a specific theme and focus area is selected. In 2019, the focus was Power for Internet Infrastructure.
